Has your loved one said “yes” – over Christmas or New Year? Yes? – You are engaged: hurrah!
Now is the time to celebrate with friends & family, show off the sparkly jewels and smiles non-stop and start all the discussions about what the big day will have to offer!
Here a few top tips to make sure you celebrate in style:
1. Pick a great venue
Well that’s an easy decision…. Beaufort House Chelsea of course!
We don’t charge room hire at The House, instead if you require a private room then we offer a minimum spend which varies on the size of the room you require and day of the week, but let’s face it, there will be drinking, LOTS of drinking so minimum spends are never hard to hit!
(we also have a wonderful selection of canapés and bowl food to choose from too to keep the hunger pangs at bay!)
2. Let them eat cake
Weddings are all about cake so why would an engagement party be any different? In addition, cake is a brilliant way to soak up all that champagne that’s flowing. We work with a number of suppliers who can bake an enormous chocolate cake, a cheeky little fruitcake or some gorgeous engagement themed cupcakes, which are delicious as well as stylish. Try the Humming Bird Bakery.
3. Get all the help you can
You have so much to organise for your special day so you should definitely delegate some of the work to your loved ones who will be sharing in your special day. And of course our dedicated Events team at Beaufort House Chelsea is also here to help any way we can too, whether in the planning of the party, creating personalised drinks menus with a couple of our signature cocktails named after the place where you first met or got engaged, for a fun personal twist, or by suggesting DJ’s and other suppliers who will ensure your engagement celebrations are exactly how you want them to be!
Or why not place a large notebook and brightly coloured pens in prime spot so that guests at your engagement party can tell you what songs they would love to hear at your wedding, so you have your playlist done and dusted by the end of your engagement party! Or how about setting up a decorated pin board and plain tags so you can create a Mr and Mrs board and ask your guests to give you wedding/marriage advice for your new wedded life together.
4. Decorations
We love a party and we love decorations and themed balloons always add that extra little something to our beautiful private rooms (not that they really need it!). We work with a number of companies including the Non Stop Party Shop and the London Balloon Lady. The combination of balloons, cupcakes on cake stands as a table-top decoration, as well as some table confetti creates a real party atmosphere.
5. ENJOY IT!
You have organised it all, got everyone there, the venue looks stunning, you are being served delicious drinks and fabulous food and the party is in full swing so don’t forget to have fun yourself. At some point you have to stop trying to keep everyone happy and enjoy the party, after all it’s YOUR party! Here’s to the big day!
