There are so many ways of making sure the excitement is set before your guests even arrive at the party. From the invitation, an announcement of the theme, and hints of what is to come, it all adds to the experience.
A few simple details and setting the right tone will make all the difference in the experience of your party and ensure that everyone has a wonderful time.

NEW YEAR´S EVE PARTY THEMES

Will you be going for a theme focusing on the highlights of the previous year? Maybe a Great Gatsby Theme, or a  Black and White Ball for that edge of elegance or simply just going for Black Tie? Whatever you choose to do, it’s important to make sure that the theme resonates across your entire party from the invitation, to the dressing of the venue, either in line with your theme, or just to add a bit of glitz and glamour.  It only happens once a year, better make it brilliant. At a stunning venue like Albert’s at Beaufort House Chelsea the dressing can be as simple as balloons (2020 balloons will look fabulous), streamers, party hats, selfie picture frames and props, candles and party lights.  Another fabulous idea is to collect some tiaras, feather boa’s, funny glasses and party hats and make a dress-up bowl near the entrance so people can grab something to wear as they walk in.

Make sure it reflects the kind of party you’ll be having.  You can go the full hog and produce beautiful high quality printed invitations, or why not create an online invitation, which is much cheaper and can be themed in line with your event, and also collect RSVP’s for you too – easy peasy.   There are plenty of cool, elegant and funky templates to choose from and you can go as far as you wish with the design, from balloons and fireworks motifs to popping champagne corks and glitter…Phew! But, when it comes to this element, perhaps less is more. Find the key ideas of the theme and party and stick to those as the visual cues and then ensure all the key details are there including timings, dress-code/theme, address, what will be provided, and how to RSVP.

GET THE PARTY STARTED WITH A FABULOUS AMBIENCE AND GREAT MUSIC

For special occasions such as these, it’s key to get the tone right. Depending on the kind of New Year’s party you decide to have, you can par it down or go all out with the bells and whistles, depending on your mood. The one thing that’s very important is to make sure the ambience is perfect for your guests to feel comfortable, but special, to feel relaxed but ready to enjoy jumping into the New Year together. One of our favourite tricks is to have a pre-dinner playlist to get the mood started. Then later on you can switch to the after midnight New Year’s playlist of new and old classics to start the new year with a bang. If you want to make sure that all your guests are ready to get on the dance floor, why not invite them to send you their favourite music choices and make a joint playlist that includes everyone’s all-time favourite party music to keep the dance floor filled all evening.  Alternatively why not book a DJ for the evening we have a number of suggested DJ’s we work with regularly at Beaufort House Chelsea.

On a night of excessive bottles of fizz, exquisite cocktails and all-night partying, it’s very important to make sure that your guests have some delicious canapés to nibble on when they arrive and before the main food of the evening is served. But don’t forget to have some tasty food ready after midnight (pizza’s, mini burgers and bacon butties are always a huge hit) to keep at bay the effects of all those divine drinks and especially once all your guests get ready celebrate the new year on the dance floor!
