Beaufort Baby Shower …or a high tea for the mummy-to-be.

Kids party - Sandwiches and cakes

At Beaufort House Chelsea we offer a unique baby shower afternoon or evening, where you and your guests will enjoy a lovely tea served with delicate finger sandwiches, delectable treats and a glass of champagne.

Baby Showers are traditionally a US idea, but are rapidly gaining popularity in the UK. They are a wonderful way to gather friends and relatives to celebrate the new life coming into your family.

At Beaufort House we think that Baby Showers are a fabulous excuse for a party and a great way to treat a mum to be. Who can say “no” to a party, where you are showered with gifts and goodies for the impending arrival of a new baby boy or girl (or twins, triplets, quadruplets… you get our drift!).

So you’ve decided on a Baby Shower – What next?

Who will organise the baby shower? Definitely not the mum to be, the party should be stress free for her, so it should be her friends, family or even her husband if he feels up to the task.  Whoever takes on the role needs to make sure everything is just right for her.

When should you hold a baby shower?  We think that the best time is the last trimester, but remember not to book it too close to the due date, or the mum-to-be may not hold out in time to attend! The last trimester can often drag on, so it’s a great opportunity to surprise her and keep her motivated for the last few weeks of her pregnancy.

Why host the baby shower at Beaufort House? Both location and venue are very important, and whether you are having a small intimate gathering, or a large event, Beaufort House is a fantastic venue in the heart of Chelsea, with a number of rooms sizes to choose from to host your party. We can make the Baby Shower to match all your needs, totally bespoke to you, and we are child friendly if you are also bringing along young children to join in the celebrations!

Whom to Invite?  If it is not a surprise shower then it is best to just ask the mum-to-be who she would like to invite. The easiest way to invite everyone and keep track of RSVP’s, is to create an e-vite, so don’t forget to get email addresses for all her family and friends. Although Baby showers are often full of women there is no reason at all why men can’t join the party as well, especially the dad-to-be.

What to eat and drink?  What you eat and drink at the baby shower is entirely up to you. Don’t worry though, we know all the food that pregnant women cannot eat, and avoid these items on your menu. We think finger foods are the better options as they are light on stomach, easy to serve and allow you all to mingle and chat easily.  Finger sandwiches, fruits, crudities, pastries and cakes are also good choices to make.  To drink we can make some delicious non-alcoholic mocktails and freshly squeezed juices for the mum-to-be and other pregnant friends, but a  full range of wines, cocktails and of course Champagne is available to all.

Finally, a wonderful way to thank the guests for coming is giving out party favours, something small that can be taken away, such as sugared almonds, scented candles or chocolates, all of which can be arranged by the Event team at The House.  For the mother to be, why not get all the  guests to  sign a baby shower book wishing her well for the future, for her to take home with her as a reminder of this special day.

Beaufort Baby Showers can be booked for any time of the day or evening, and we can create the perfect package to suit you. Call us today for a proposal on 020 7352 2828 or email info@beauforthousechelsea.com.

Celebs come out in force for the launch of Love & Lust London at Beaufort House Chelsea

Love & Lust Binky              Love & Lust Frankie & Wayne

A great night was clearly had by all at the Love & Lust London launch party on Monday night, with celebs out in force to celebrate in style at The House. Frankie Sandford, sporting her divine baby bump, was there with fiancée Wayne Bridge (so clearly not looking for love herself, attending in support of her sister Tor who co-founded the night). Beaufort House regulars from the Made in Chelsea cast Binky Felstead, Ashley James and newbies Francesca Newman-Young and Josh Coombs all joined in the fun.

Love & Lust London, singles party nights, was co-founded by Frankie’s gorgeous sister Tor and her stunning business partner Julie Cockram, and they describe the singles parties as a “fun night out where people just happen to be single. No games, no gimmicks – just drinks” and Frankie was clearly very proud of her sister’s achievement. Tweeting a photo of herself wearing a branded baseball cap and standing next to her sister, she wrote: “Very proud sis! Having a great time @lovelust_london #loveinchelsea.”

With awesome music from LA based DJs Jester and Hygrade, a house full of hotties, and cocktails flowing all night, if love were to blossom, this would be a great place for it to happen, and it sounded like it may have done for some. The Love & Lust London official Twitter account tweeted the morning after “Ohhhh we have just heard there were some matches last night #loveinchelsea.”

Candy Kittens is the brainchild of 24 year old Jamie Laing, of “Made in Chelsea” fame. After finishing school Jamie decided to take a year out and travel around South America and USA, which was where the idea of Candy Kittens was born. After visiting a sweet shop in New York, Jamie knew this is what he wanted to do. Jamie has a passion and love for all things sweet and has now added his own flair to the confectionery industry that has been a large part of his family history. “I want to have beautiful, sexy, fun, flirty girls alongside the sweets.”  Candy Kittens is Jamie’s first business. Leah McFall from BBC’s The Voice joins us this Wednesday!

Join us for another evening of Live Music at The House Wednesday 17th April 2013 from 7.30pm with two fabulous, talented musicians, admission is free.
Leah McFall         Tania Pereira Armesto
Leah McFall - https://www.facebook.com/leahmcfallmusic.
It is often said that ‘the best things come in small packages’, a proverb definitely not short of the truth when talking about Leah McFall. She may only stand 5′ from the ground but when it comes to vocals this wee beauty is a giant! Growing up in Belfast, Northern Ireland with a daily dose of Motown, Jazz, Gospel, Folk & Pop being play around the family home, Leah took influence from all she heard, which is reflected in both her vocal & song writing style. With her unique voice, rich tone & not to mention her 5 octave vocal range; Leah McFall is one artist to keep an eye & ear out for as you’ll be hearing a lot more from this feisty Irish talent in the very near future.
Tania Pereira Armesto -https://www.facebook.com/TaniaPereiraArmestoMusic
Tania is an acoustic singer-songwriter from Spain, who is now based in London. Tania started her professional career as a musician when she was 19, singing in a traditional folk band from Asturias (North of Spain). She grew up under the influence of her father’s music knowledge, a famous Asturian singer-songwriter, and has also been inspired by artists such as Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell, and Silvio Rodriguez. Tania is definitely one singer not to be missed.

Entrance is free but booking is recommended.
To book your table please call Merlin on 020 7352 2828 or email info@beauforthousechelsea.com
